Just close to the Local Education Authority (LEA)
Primary School at the Old Kutunku village in
Gwagwalada area of Abuja, a baby no more than
2 months old was found dumped there by a very
heartless mother.
According to residents close by, the baby boy was
dumped in the night of Sunday, June 5, and was
found the following day by a woman who went to
throw away her refuse. The shocked woman who
discovered the child immediately ran to the
village head who sent some elders to pick the
child and immediately handed over the baby to
the social welfare department of the council.
Michael Ayuba, one of the residents in that area
said: “The cry of the baby attracted the attention
of the woman, who found him wrapped with a
cloth at the refuse site. She ran back to inform
the chief.”
Could the woman not have just given the child to
a motherless babys' home or something? This is
too vicious especially for a new mother.
