How to write a book ~ LeviTodaY

How to write a book

1.Read the book. You can read the Cliff Notes version, but summarizing the book is not effective. For example, if you're reading Gone With The Wind, you'll probably immediately think of the 1939 movie actors. To build a stronger interest, give the part of Rhett Butler to Johnny Depp, and the part of Scarlet O'Hara to Scarlett Johansson. Cast Samuel L. Jackson as Polk, and think of him saying Polk's lines with the Jackson touch.

2. Take notes. As you're reading, keep a notepad or a voice recorder near you. Make general observations as you read. Note the tone and setting of the book, the characters and their personalities.

3. Provide detailed descriptions. Analyse important events in the story, and omit any unnecessary information that may be irrelevant to your summary. Consider your audience. Clarify any key points in your summary to avoid ambiguity.

4. Conclude your summary with the ending. If this is a class assignment, you may need to reiterate the ending of the story.

5. Finalise your summary. This includes editing and revising any necessary parts within your summary. Have someone who has read the book proofread your summary and address certain areas that need improvement.
