The
governors of the ruling party have discovered a means of massively
reducing the level of unemployment in the country by creating millions
of jobs yearly.
Governors elected under the platform of All Progressives Congress,
APC, have resolved to create at least 3 million jobs yearly in their
respective states, according to the Vanguard.
The governors under the umbrella of Progressive Governors stated
that the plan was articulated to ensure that dividends of democracy were
delivered to the people in line with the manifesto of the party.
Other areas the governors have decided to delve into included
Health care for all, urban renewal and housing, tracking poverty,
keeping Nigeria safe, sports and culture amongst others. Revealing the
plan at a donor’s coordination meeting of the forum in Abuja with some
selected development partners on Wednesday, Plateau state governor,
Simon Lalong, who represented the chairman of the forum and governor of
Imo state, Rochas Okorocha stated that the forum has recommended the
establishment of a special technical team in each state, headed by
Senior Special to Governor to monitor and track the implementation of
those promises.
Speaking further at the event, he urged the development partners to be mindful of the fact that: “the economy of our nation, Nigeria is the sum total of the economies of the states.
“We know that we must do more to pact meaningfully on our
people and doing more could not be more tasking at a time of declining
economics growth. But we also believe that you, our development partners
have a rich intellectual and resource base that can enable us weather
the prevailing turbulent economic storm.
