Polytechnic student in Kwara State has been killed by unidentified
gunmen who stormed the school and carried out the heinous crime.

The unidentified undergraduate of the Kwara State Polytechnic,
Ilorin, was Wednesday, shot dead by gunmen suspected to be cultists.
Punch reports that the gunmen numbering about five, after killing
the victim, a second year student alleged to be a member of a rival cult
group, reportedly fled the scene.
According to an anonymous eyewitness, the incident happened at
about 7.30pm. After the assailants shot at the student from a far
distance and missed their target, they reportedly chased and grabbed him
and shot him many times in the head before they fled.
Sources revealed that the school’s security personnel quickly
alerted the police, disclosing that the police rushed to the scene of
the incident, took and deposited the remains of the student at the
mortuary of the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital.
The institution’s Registrar, Mr. Moses Salami, who confirmed the
killing, said the deceased was a 2nd year National Diploma (ND) student.
Salami noted that: “They arrived at the scene of the incident and took his corpse away to UITH. Since then, the security agencies have been coming to our polytechnic to investigate the incident.”
