Zinedine Zidane has picked his all-time Premier League XI, and has named six former Manchester United players in his team!
The Real Madrid head coach was asked by Shortlist to put together a
team comprising the best players to have played in the English
top-flight since its rebranding in 1992.
And a few surprises were subsequently sprung, with Zidane heavily
favouring Sir Alex Ferguson’s United vintage, naming Peter Schmeichel,
Gary Neville, Rio Ferdinand, Jaap Stam, Paul Scholes and, of course,
Cristiano Ronaldo in his selection.
Ronaldo – whom Zidane currently coaches at Santiago Bernabeu – is
picked as a striker in a 4-4-2 formation, alongside Arsenal legend
Thierry Henry.
Former Chelsea and Arsenal full-back Ashley Cole is the only
non-United player to make the cut in defence, while Steven Gerrard,
Claude Makelele and Patrick Vieira join Scholes in midfield.
