Two days after three schoolgirls of Babington Macaulay Junior Seminary School were abducted by gunmen, the Lagos State Deputy Governor, Idiat Adebule, visited the school.
The deputy governor , who is also the state commissioner for education, said the government was working with security agencies to ensure the children were rescued and reunited with their parents.
Asked what developments had been made so far, Adebule said, “Operation is ongoing and it has to do with security, we don’t come to the open to discuss it. But the governor has done all the needful to ensure that we have the children back.”
The pupils were studying in a classroom around the hostel area of the school at about 8pm on Monday when the bandits, numbering about 15 stormed the venue and started shooting continuously.
About 20 Policemen and three police vans are on the school premises.
