A popular market in the northern part of Nigeria has been razed by wild fire with massive damages recorded.
No fewer than 95 shops were razed by fire that gutted the famous Kurmi market in Kano metropolis on Tuesday night.
According to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), one
person died due to suffocation and another injured following the fire
outbreak.
The incident which occurred around 10pm yesterday night to the early hours of today was brought under control by men of the state fire service. The cause of the fire outbreak is yet to be known.
