An angry tenant in Delta state has reacted in a really shocking manner after the landlord showed up for the rent.
The matter was reported to the police
The furious tenant in Ugbolu community, near Asaba, Delta State
identified as Chiboke Emeka, yesterday allegedly descended on his
landlord, Okechukwu Ogbo, with blows, leaving him in a pulp.
The younger brother of the landlord, Benjamin Ogbo, said the tenant
allegedly hit the landlord with hard object after he demanded for his
three months unpaid rents from the tenant.
He added that the landlord in the process fell to the ground and
was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where he is presently
responding to treatment.
It was reliably gathered that the tenant had in the past three
months refused to pay his rents, a situation the landlord revealed on
his bed angered him to issue him a quit notice where the trouble
started.
Police officers in Illah community Police Division where the tenant
is being detained, said he confessed to the crime, adding that he
denied owing his landlord three months.
The police officers who did not want their names in the print, said: “The
suspect claimed he hit his landlord with blows as he was dragging him,
while some persons said he used a plywood to hit the landlord”.
