Injuries to both key strikers had raised alarm
bells in the past week, but the Merengue trainer
is certain he will have the pair back at full
fitness for the first leg Cristiano Ronaldo and
Karim Benzema are both fit to play against
Manchester City on Tuesday, according to Real
Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane.
Ronaldo had pulled up at the end of
Wednesday's Liga victory over Villarreal, while
the French striker came off at the weekend
against Rayo Vallecano.
But the coach insisted that both would be fine to
feature in the first leg of the Champions League
quarter-final.
"They are 100 per cent," Zidane told reporters.
"We will test everything but the idea is that they
will play."
"They have both made good progress and we
will see how they are tomorrow. Everyone wants
to play these games."
In the case of Benzema, the coach added that he
expected to see his compatriot leading the
attack.
"This afternoon's training session will be key," he
admitted.
"But he should make it for tomorrow's game."
