French Striker, Giroud Maybe Leaving Arsenal in Mouth-watering Swap Deal

Arsene Wenger is desperately seeking for a world-class goal poacher in the transfer window to turn the fortunes of the English club, Arsenal.

Gonzalo Higauin

Arsene Wenger is on the lookout for big names up front this summer, but failed in an attempt to persuade Jamie Vardy to leave Leicester City for the Emirates Stadium, according to the Metro.

Gonzalo Higuain was one of the best strikers in Europe last season, scoring 38 goals in 42 appearances in all competitions, 36 of which came in Serie A to set a new record for the most goals by a single player in an Italian top flight campaign.

The Argentine sharp-shooter was a target for the Gunners back in 2013, though he ended up at Napoli instead when offloaded by former club Real Madrid.

However, he is back on Arsenal’s agenda again, according to Gianluca Di Marzio, as the club try to tempt the Naples outfit into a sale by offering them the chance to land a direct replacement in Oliver Giroud.

This exchange would send Arsenal fans into dreamland, with many feeling the French forward has been given far too long as first choice for the north Londoners despite a poor goal return in comparison to starting strikers at other top European sides.

Italian football journalist Emanuele Giulianelli has also revealed the English club has agreed personal terms with Higuain with further discusssions scheduled with his club.

Giroud scored 24 goals in all competitions for Arsenal last season, though he went 12 games without a goal at the start of 2016 as the team’s title challenge fell away.
