Mutiu Adepeju Says He Regret Not Making Real Madrid First Eleven

Former Super Eagles player, Mutiu Adepoju, has admitted that he regrets not being able to play in Real Madrid’s first team.
The 45-year-old, who is now Nigeria’s La Liga country manager, spent over a decade in Spain during his career.
Adepoju joined Real Madrid’s second team, Castilla, after the 1989 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Saudi Arabia. But he never got the chance to move up the ranks.
“Probably, not been able to break into the Real Madrid first team would be a regret, but generally, I enjoyed my time in La Liga,” he recounted.
“Today, Spain is home to my family as we have dual nationalities.
“I did well as Castilla, winning them promotion from division 2B to 2A and that was why I was invited to the Super Eagles.”
Adepoju later played for Racing Santander and Real Sociedad.
