Boko Haram seems to be waxing in strength following another lethal assault of soldiers guarding the borders of Cameroon.
An attack by Nigeria’s Boko Haram jihadists against a Lake Chad army base manned by a regional force has left six Cameroonian soldiers dead, a military source said Tuesday.
“Boko Haram attacked a base of the Mixed Multinational Force on the island of Darak (on Lake Chad) at around 2200 (2100 GMT)” on Monday, said the source, who asked not to be named.
He said six soldiers had been killed. Nigeria has been battling Boko Haram in the last 7 years with over 20,000 Nigerians killed and about 2.3 million others displaced.
