This is by the cutest thing I have seen this year. What even makes it cuter is that, immediately the acting President noticed the boy, he wanted to say hello, he waved to him and shook him first. Just brilliant. See more photos below and the heart melting video all after the cut. I can’t stop saying aww.

Southern Kaduna: Osinbajo Meets CAN, JNI, Herdsmen This Morning

Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, on Saturday met with major stakeholders in Kaduna State in a move to put an end to the killings in Southern Kaduna.

Osinbajo met with the Christian Association of Nigeria, the Jama’atu Nasril Islam, the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association and some members of the affected communities.

At the meeting, which was held at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim Government House, Kaduna, after the acting President’s inspection of the Kaduna Airport, Osinbajo noted that it was not possible to understand and proffer solutions to the problem in one meeting.

Osinbajo said, “Let me say that there is no question at all that many have suffered, families have lost loved ones, a lot of bloodletting has taken place in Southern Kaduna in the past few weeks and I want to express my sincere condolences to all of those who have lost families and friends and who have been traumatised by the terrible things that have been going on in Southern Kaduna in the past few months.

As a matter of fact, I have tried very hard to study the crisis in Southern Kaduna. Personally, I have read quite a few documents, including reports of past crises.

“I don’t want us to be in a hurry, I am certainly not in a hurry because I don’t believe that a crisis where there have been so much bloodletting and hatred over the years can be resolved by a couple of meetings, no, I don’t believe that is possible.

“I have talked to his Excellency, the governor, that what I would like to achieve is not a quick fix. But I want us to begin a process and I want to be a part of that process that will listen to each group separately and then get everyone together.”

State Chairman of CAN,  Revd. George Dodo, thanked the acting President and the state governor, Nasir el-Rufai, for making moves to find a lasting solution to the crisis in the southern part of the state.

The representative of JNI in the state, Alhaji Sanusi Maikudi, blamed the crisis on the failure of past governments to implement recommendations of commissions of inquiry.

Nigeria CAN'T Be Islamised – Osinbajo

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Thursday enjoined faith-based organisations in the country to shun rumours that the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari was moving to Islamise Nigeria.

He told religious leaders after receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award of the Student Christian Movement of Nigeria (SCM) in his office, that they should dwell on facts.

Recall that before the election in 2015, Prof. Osinbajo spoke out that the All Progressives Congress (APC) was not secretly plotting to Islamise Nigeria if it won the election. He again reaffirmed that stand stressing that the rumour making the rounds about plans to make Islam the official religion of Nigeria were unfounded as the country “can’s be Islamised”.

Osinbajo emphasised that it was impossible to Islamise the country given the 1999 Constitution that forbids state religion and urged religious bodies to channel their energies towards proffering solutions to the numerous challenges facing the country.

How 'Someone Somewhere' Recommended Me to be Vice President - Yemi Osinbajo Breaks Silence

Vice-president Yemi Osinbajo has given a hint of how he became President Muhammadu Buhari's running mate, saying 'somebody somewhere' recommended him for the position.
VP Yemi Osinbajo
Tunji Bello, secretary to the Lagos state government, who served in Tinubu’s government, had described Paden’s account as half-truth, saying he was in the know of how Osinbajo emerged as Buhari’s running mate.
Speaking at a presidential dinner in honour of the beneficiaries of the amnesty programme on Wednesday night in Abuja, vice-president, Yemi Osinbajo gave a hint of how he became President Muhammadu Buhari’s running mate, saying “somebody somewhere” recommended him for the position.
Recall that President Buhari’s authorised biographer, John Paden, had claimed in his book  ‘Muhammadu Buhari: Challenges of Leadership,’ that the president chose Osinbajo as his partner in the 2015 presidential election despite pressure from Bola Tinubu, who wanted the position.
According to TheCable News, the vice president for the first time, spoke subtly on the matter saying, “I was in a group of young men and women and one of them asked the question how did I become vice president; I was never a politician or anything like that,” he said.
“So, I tried to explain it is quite simply that someone somewhere has to recommend you. Somebody somewhere has to give you a helping hand.

“Whether to be a vice president or to be an aircraft pilot or to be an engineer, somebody somewhere has to give you an opportunity and I think that all of you that are here today are the beneficiaries of the opportunities that you have somehow received.

“And this is why this event is so important. I think that it is one way we have to remind ourselves that we are bound as individuals to give opportunities to everyone.”
Osinbajo urged Niger Delta militants to lay down their arms and embrace peace, saying the region was also losing in the bombing of oil installations. “The fact that you did so well was a tremendous opportunity for other people,”he said.
“We all have the responsibility to ensure that the future of the country is one that is secure. That cannot happen under the atmosphere of conflict. There is no point blowing up pipelines. If they are blown, who are the losers at the end of the day? All of us, even the up-and-coming ones.”
