Selena Gomez Reveals Working In Hollywood Since Age 11 Wore Her Down

Selena Gomez started acting at age 11 when she landed a role in Spy Kids 3: Game Over. A regular gig on TV's Barney followed.

So it's no wonder when the Texas-born singer/actress, 24, hit her early twenties after turning out hit songs like Same Old Love and films such as Spring Breakers - she was burned out.

When stopping by the Radio Disney studios in NYC on the same place where she got one of her first jobs - the beauty talked about her break from the spotlight in 2016. 'I took a break last year for myself to figure out where I wanted to go creatively, and it was good. I've been doing this for so long and I needed a second to breathe.'

In an excerpt shared by E! News, the girlfriend of singer The Weeknd added: 'When I did that, I came back and I had it for a while, and I think it's safe to say I feel like I have a whole album put together at this point.

'But, I wanted to make sure everything was done at my pace. I didn't want to rush anything. I wanted to make sure my life was balanced and happy and healthy first.'

She also said that it's important to make sure you're healthy before getting into a relationship.

An insider claimed: 'There were sparks when they first met at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in 2015. They both performed and The Weeknd was just taken by Selena.'

A source said previously: 'Selena is not good friends with either Gigi or Bella. She knows them through other people, but they are just acquaintances.

'She is friendly with them, but not friends with them... Selena and Gigi were never fond of each other, so Selena definitely doesn't have any stipulations about hooking up with, or dating, Bella's ex.'

Selena Gomez Taking A Break After Experiencing Panic Attacks And Depression

Selena Gomez has announced she is taking time off to maintain her health while dealing with lupus.

The 24-year-old revealed on Tuesday she has been experiencing side effects from the disease, which include panic attacks and depression.

'I want to be proactive and focus on maintaining my health and happiness and have decided that the best way forward is to take some time off,' she said in a statement given to People.

The star, who has been on her Revival World Tour, said in her statement: 'I've discovered that anxiety, panic attacks and depression can be side effects of lupus, which can present their own challenges.'

She went on to add: 'Thank you to all my fans for your support. You know how special you are to me, but I need to face this head on to ensure I am doing everything possible to be my best.' 

'I know I am not alone by sharing this, I hope others will be encouraged to address their own issues.'

Justin Bieber Ignoring Selena Gomez's Calls After Instagram Row

It seems things have finally ended between Hip pop's one-time dream couple.

Despite Selena Gomez publicly apologizing for her Instagram spat with Justin Bieber, her former boyfriend does not want to hear any of it.

According to TMZ, the 24-year-old songstress has been trying to reach out to Justin but he has been ignoring her.

A source close to Justin said Selena has been trying to contact her former beau since she lashed out at him on social media questioning his love for his fans and insinuating her cheated on her.

The source told the website he feels like his ex will not let go and she is constantly trying to put herself in his business.

Justin is also apparently rather amused that Selena attacked him over his plans to delete Instagram which he followed through on as she had once threatened to do the same.

A source speaking to People echoed the sentiments that Selena is struggling to not let go.

'He was Selena's first love, and she hasn't been able to totally get over him, the source told People.

As for one of Justin's social media snap backs that Selena uses him for attention the source said this was definitely not the case, if anything Justin did that.
