My Husband Lies, Harasses My Church Members for S*x - Ibadan Prophetess Cries Out

A prophetess in Ibadan who has become fed up with her husband's really obnoxious acts, has taken a proactive step to end her misery.

An Idi-Ogungun Customary Court, Agodi, Ibadan, on Wednesday dissolved the 15-year marriage between Nike Adenekan, a prophetess; and her pastor husband, Adekunle Adenekan, over an attempt to rape a church member, NAN reports.

 

Nike filed a divorce suit before the court, seeking dissolution of her marriage to Adenekan, on the grounds of telling lies, immoral acts and threat to life.

 

In his judgment, the court’s president, Mr. Mukaila Balogun, dissolved the marriage and gave custody of the only child of the union to the petitioner.

 

Balogun restrained the defendant from further attending the petitioner’s church.

 

He also ordered him to pay N3,500 as monthly allowance for the maintenance of the child.

 

The petitioner alleged that her husband tried to rape an 18-year-old church member who lives with her.

 

Nike narrated how the defendant, on three occasions, tried to rape one of her church members who resides with her.

 

“My lord, there was a night my husband left me on the bed and climbed on the girl who was sleeping on the floor.

“When I caught him, my husband said he wanted to kill a mosquito on the girl’s body and pleaded with me to forgive him.

“The girl also told me that my husband, on two occasions, attempted to rape her at night when I went to church for special prayers.

“Also, a particular woman in my church told me that daddy (Adenekan) wanted her to be his concubine and threatened to stop coming to my church if daddy continues disturbing her.

“He is in the habit of lying; I never trusted him and cannot fold my hands watching him to destroy my church,” Nike told the court.

 

She pleaded with the court to grant her request for a divorce, saying she had made up her mind to end the union and that no one could convince her to change her mind.

 

Responding, Adenekan, who claimed to be a pastor, however, pleaded with the court not to grant Nike’s request, saying she had suffered with him and still wants her as his wife.

 

Adenekan, who was silent on the allegation of attempted rape, prayed the court to assist him intervene in the matter.

A woman has got people talking after wearing a kind of dress that was considered provocative by other church goers.

 

The woman identified as Olufunke Philips, shared an experience she had when she attended a church service recently.

 

The woman shared her story on her Facebook detailing how much trouble she got into by dressing 'inapropriately' to a church event.

 

According to her, she got eyes rolling as she went to church in a cleavage-revealing outfit, a jean trouser and an exposed hair.

 

 

However, the woman who is apparently not bothered about what anyone thinks, has vowed to not stop going to church.

"If you spend three-quarters of the time for service casting and banishing your haters to the pit of hell, there is a problem.

"Apparently, I commited two offences. I didn't cover my hair and I wore jean pants. Nobody told me to get out but the disapproving looks were not lost on me. So I winked at everyone that I caught looking at me 'one kain' and chuckled when they shuffled their feet uncomfortably. I even licked my lips at one woman that was frowning at me because of my jeans. Her eyes were as wide as saucers.

"I love watching people in churches. Keep inviting me folks. I love it.

However, social media users have slammed her for trying to 'seduce young men in the church'.

 

Others blasted her for exposing too much boobs in her dressing.

Police Swarm Church Amid Reports Of Gunfire, Hostages

Police swarmed a church in central Paris today amid fears of a potential attack after reports gunfire had been heard and hostages taken.

Parts of the city were shutdown while the French government issued a warning telling people to avoid the Les Halles district of the city.

Officers have since confirmed it was a 'false alarm' and there is no indication of any danger to the public.

Bishop Of Grantham Becomes First In The Church Of England To Declare That He Is Gay

The Bishop of Grantham has become the first in the Church of England to declare that he is in a gay relationship.

Nicholas Chamberlain, 52, has been with his partner for many years and added that they are in a 'faithful' and 'loving' relationship. 

He was ordained last year by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, 60, who added that he was aware about his sexuality.

Bishop Chamberlain made the disclosure when he spoke to the Guardian and added that he didn't want to make 'a big thing' about coming out.

He was made suffragan in the Lincoln diocese in 2015 and obeys Church guidelines which say gay clergy must remain celibate and not marry. 

The bishop told the newspaper: 'It was not my decision to make a big thing about coming out.

'People know I'm gay, but it's not the first thing I'd say to anyone. Sexuality is part of who I am, but it's my ministry that I want to focus on.' 

He said that both he and his partner 'enjoy each other's company' and 'share each other's life' during their 'faithful' and 'loving' relationship.

The bishop divulged the personal information after learning that details about his private life were going to be revealed by an unnamed Sunday newspaper.

He added: 'I hope I'll be able to be a standard-bearer for all people as a gay man.

'And I really hope that I'll be able to help us move on beyond matters of sexuality.'

His appointment was made by Christopher Lowson, the bishop of Lincoln, who said that he is 'satisfied' Bishop Chamberlain 'lives by' the House of Bishops' guidance on issues in human sexuality.

In a letter to parishes in his diocese, Lowson said: 'I am satisfied now, as I was at the time of his appointment, that Bishop Chamberlain fully understands, and lives by, the House of Bishops' guidance on issues in human sexuality.

'For me, and for those who assisted in his appointment, the fact that Bishop Nicholas is gay is not, and has never been, a determining factor.'

54-year-old Church Founder Arrested for Allegedly Trafficking Girls into Prostitution

A female prophet and founder of a white garment church has found herself in deep trouble with the police on allegations of running a prostitution ring. The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 54-year-old woman, Idowu Olupinla, the founder of a white garment, Adura migba Cherubim and Seraphim Church, Ijoko, Ota area of the state, Vanguard reports. She was paraded for allegedly running a prostitution ring, using teenagers. Olupinla, who might be charged for human trafficking and child abuse, denied the allegation. She was however confronted by three of her victims, who said she used one of the rooms in her apartment as a brothel, where different men, including male members of the church slept with them. Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, while parading the suspect, said one Haruna Saidat aged 16 years and three others lodged complaints against the suspect for using them for prostitution and sending other young girls to neighbouring countries for the same purpose. Also paraded was a member of a gang of robbers/kidnappers terrorising residents of Oyo, Lagos and Ogun states, Richard Abraham. Iliyasu said the operatives of the Federal Special Anti-Squad received an information on the hideout of the notorious gang on Monday August 22, and they went after them. On sighting the operatives, he said the suspected robbers opened fire on them, while the operatives also returned fire for fire; by the time the dust settled one of the robbers, Abraham, was arrested while other members of the gang escaped

See the Catholic Priest that married two wives

Parishioners at Queen of Apostles Catholic Church, Kakuri parish, Kaduna State, are still in shock following the revelation that the parish priest, Very Reverend Father Peter Zuni, 54, was engaged in a secret marriage to two women, an act that led to his being disrobed and sacked from the priesthood.

Sunday Sun gathered that one of the wives is already late, while the surviving one who blew the whistle about three weeks ago over the secret marriage is said to be nursing a child for the embattled priest.

According to the doctrine of the Catholic Church, only unmarried men are ordained into the priesthood as they are obligated to swear to an oath of celibacy and observe perfect and perpetual service for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. This, it is believed, would enable the priests to easily remain close to Christ with an undivided heart, and dedicate themselves more freely to the service of God and the congregation.

When Sunday Sun visited the premises of the Queen of the Apostles parish, some parishioners confirmed the report, which they said was initially thought to be mere rumour.

The parishioners who spoke on condition of anonymity said they were shocked and surprised to learn of a petition to the Bishop of Kaduna Archdiocese, Bishop Ndagoso Manoso, that two women had children for their parish priest, an act considered to be an abomination and grave sin against the Catholic doctrine.

They pointed out that in order to cover up the priest’s ‘sin’ from spreading to the larger public, the Archdiocese allegedly organised a send off for the embattled priest to a remote village in Jaba Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

“During the send off, the priest was not allowed to make a farewell speech, and many people refused to take photographs with him. There was little or no felicitation with him because most of the time he was seen standing aloof under a mango tree without anybody going close to him.

“Nobody can say when the priest committed the alleged sinful act. If it happened before his ordination, he wouldn’t have been ordained, so probably it was after his ordination, and you know, God does not sleep, no matter the length of cover up, one day the bubble will burst. And the bubble has burst now,” the parishioner said.

However, when Sunday Sun contacted the disrobed priest on his telephone line, and sought comments on his alleged controversial transfer from the city to a remote village, he said:
“Nobody is ordained to remain and work in the city. I have spent five years as parish priest of Queen of Apostles, so I can work anywhere, city or village.”

On the allegation of his involvement in secret marriage to two women who bore children for him even as a Catholic priest, he neither denied nor confirmed the allegation. Rather he said: 

“I find it difficult myself to believe what people are saying about me. I will not comment on it now. I will follow due process to invite you for an interview, but I am afraid, the newspaper of the archdiocese, The Cross News, may carry this story before you (Sunday Sun).”
