We Need Credible Information To Rescue Chibok Girls – Buhari

To successfully rescue the abducted chibok girls, the government needs credible information on their exact location and the cooperation of the relevant persons, President Muhammadu has said.

He spoke while meeting with the former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon at the Presidential villa, Abuja on Tuesday.

Relaying what transpired at the closed door meeting between him and the president with State House correspondents, Gowon said that president Buhari was committed to finding the abducted girls.

He also commended the government on its anti-corruption war, saying that corruption had held the country down for many years.

“We discussed the general affairs of the country, the problems of the country, his fight against corruption, and all the efforts that he is making to deal with it and of course, the impatience of the public to see results of the fight which have yet to be found, since people have not been prosecuted yet, that would soon begin.

“These are some of the issues we talked about. One appreciates his efforts and determination to rid the country of corruption, which is one of the problems that have held the country down and has created serious set backs to the country both nationally and internationally and then, of course, the current situation about the Chibok girls and the efforts the government is making to rescue them. He said the government needed to get credible information about the whereabout of the girls and also those that would assist the government achieve that.

“I believe that the government is certainly determined to ensure that a number of these girls are brought back home safely as soon as possible. To achieve that, certain credibility must be established of our sources on information on their location, but as at now, no one knows where these girls are, and all this information that you have been getting, I don’t know their sources, but all efforts at engaging the international media and sources are necessary so that this matter can be resolved once and for all”, he said.

See what shekau said in new video

Abubakar Shekau, the Boko Haram leader has vowed to fight Nigeria once again and extending his fight to the world. Shekau says he is not ready to fight his Muslim brothers but non-believers and people who Allah has ordained them to fight.

He however mentioned that he would never recognise Abu Musab Al-Barnawi as the new Boko Haram leader, but expressed his loyalty to Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, leader of Boko Haram affiliate, ISIS. What he said in the new video...

“I, Abubakar Ash-Shakawy (Shekau), the leader of Jama’atu Ahlissunnah Lidda’awati Wal Jihad, made it a duty for myself to fight Nigeria and the whole world. We have no desire to fight our Muslim brethren. I’m alive by the permission of Allah. Continue....

“Let the government of Nigeria and West Africa not celebrate or gloat over the division between us and our brothers….We will shock them with attacks never seen before, in no-distant time.

“They (the Abu Musab group) do nothing but to create division among our people without an iota of contribution to the jihad.

“This is time to fight; it is the time of jihad. We are not killing fellow Muslims. We are not calling Muslims non-believers. We fight and kill those who God has ordered to be fought, those we call non-believers are people so called by God.”
