Retired Fertility Doctor Accused Of Using Own Sperm Atleast 50 Times In Treatments

A retired Indianapolis fertility doctor said he used his own sperm around 50 times instead of donated sperm that his patients were expecting, impregnating several women decades ago, but later denied it, according to court documents.

Dr. Donald Cline, 77, pleaded not guilty Monday to two felony obstruction of justice charges for misleading authorities who were investigating complaints from two of the now-adult children against him.

Cline is accused of being the biological father of at least eight people, the youngest of whom would be about 30. The accusations were first reported by WXIN-TV in May.

Cline, who now lives in the suburb of Zionsville, told six adults who believed they were his children that he had donated his own sperm about 50 times starting in the 1970s, a probable cause affidavit said. He had told his patients they were receiving sperm from medical or dental residents or medical students and that no single donor’s sperm was used more than three times.

One of the adult children took a saliva-based DNA test through a private personal genomics company and found that she was related to at least eight other people in its database, the affidavit said. Meanwhile, two others also investigated their ancestry through DNA tests and learned their mothers both were patients of Cline and that they were related to 70 relatives of Cline, it said.

Cline “said he used his own sperm whenever he didn’t have a donor sample available,” the affidavit said he told them.

“Dr. Cline admitted to doing wrong by inseminating the women with his own sperm, but felt that he was helping women because they really wanted a baby,” the affidavit said. “Also, he felt pressured to use his own sperm because he didn’t always have access to fresh sperm.”

Cline marked the files of the women receiving his sperm with asterisks so that if a patient came back and wanted another baby, “he would use his sperm again to produce full siblings,” the affidavit said. WXIN reported the eight known siblings were born to five different women.

Wonder In Kwara As Doctor Discovers Woman Is Faking Pregnancy When Her Mother-In-Law Brought Her In For Delivery

The Chief Medical Director (CMD) of Yusjib Industrial Medicare, Ilorin, Dr Yusuf Abdulraheem,  says he has discovered a young lady  that has been faking pregnancy for close to nine months. Abdulraheem told newsmen on Tuesday in Ilorin that he discovered that the lady used clothing as a disguise for the pregnancy by stuffing them under her normal clothes to make her appear pregnant.

According to the doctor, he made the discovery while trying to examine the lady who is in her early twenties. He said that the lady  identified herself as Azeezat Abubakar.

The CMD said that the lady who was brought to the hospital for delivery, identified herself as Azeezat Abubakar. He added that he became suspicious when she refused to be examined.

“She has been using my hospital name to claim money at home, telling her family she is doing her ante-natal in Yusjib. When her family brought her, I noticed that i had never seen her face before, but for the benefit of doubt, I told her to remove her folder which she could not locate.

“In the absence of one, I opened a new folder for her; I requested she come to the couch for examination only for her to be squatting.

“It was her mother-in-law who forced her to the couch and as I tried to examine her tommy, I discovered it was clothes she padded there’’, Abdulraheem said.

The doctor condemned the incident and urged mothers to monitor their young girls closely.

He also wondered why the mother-in-law did not discover the fake pregnancy for close to nine months.

This is the evil fake doctor who duped a cancer patient the sum of N4 million naira while deceiving them that he was a doctor.
Nze Charles has been arrested by the police

A 38-year-old fake doctor, Charles Nze, who duped a cancer patient the sum of N4 million has been arrested by the police. He was paraded at the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters, Ikeja. The heartless man had claimed he was a dentist from the Calcutta State University, India.

Explaining how he obtained the money from the victim's family he said: "The cancer patient is a family friend. I decided to assist them and bring the patient from another hospital. I was treating her as an outpatient.

“When I commenced treatment on the patient, she was getting better. But suddenly the family discovered that I was a dentist and said I overcharged them.
According to NewTelegraph, Nze further revealed that after the family found out he was a fraudster, they asked him to refund N2 million out of the money he had duped them but he refused.

“It was when I could not return the N2 million that I was arrested by military policemen at Obalende Barracks. The military police later handed me over to the police.

“Three weeks after I started treating the patient, she started getting better. Before I started treating her, she was weighing 33 kilogrammes and could not walk, but now she can walk and weighs 47kg.” he said.

One of the victim’s family members revealed that Nze lied to them that he was a medical doctor, but they later got to know that he was a fake doctor. Explaining their own side of the story, he said:

“When we first met he said he was an oncologist at 9 Brigade, Maryland and studied in India and London. My sister had been sick for some years. He promised to come and see her. “When he came, after diagnosing her, he told us that she had gastric cancer. He charged us N270,000. He said he was going to get drugs.

“After 30 minutes, my sister, who was crying that she could not walk, started walking. That was what impressed us that he was actually a genuine doctor.

“He said to continue with the treatment, we needed to act fast because she might die anytime. That was how he billed us another $10,000.

“I sold my property and also took loans from my friends to raise the money because my parents could not afford such amount of money.

“After a while, he came back and asked for more money. Then, my wife told me that my sister was not getting better but I did not listen to her. I sold my wife’s car and gave him the money.

“Again, he came to demand additional money. It was then I told him to leave the patient alone. I said if she was going to die, she should die because we have exhausted our money.

"It was there I discovered he was not a doctor. The military police arrested him and handed him over to the police.”

The state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Fatai Owoseni, urged the public to beware of the kind of people they relate with. Owoseni advised the people to go to registered medical centres for medical attention.

Doctor Removes Man’s Kidney While Treating Him For Stomach Complications, As Family Fights Back

The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a medical doctor, Hassan Yakubu, for his alleged role in the removal of the kidney of a 24-year-old male patient in his clinic.

The arrest of the medical doctor, the police said, was to help with their investigations into the alleged theft of the kidney of the 24-year-old male patient levelled against the doctor.

The command’s Public Relations Officer, Othman Abubakar, confirmed the arrest of the doctor on Tuesday in Yola. Othman said the doctor was interrogated by officers of the criminal investigations department of the command.

The incident, which The Punch gathered had now left the 24-year-old victim, Isa Hamma, in a life – threatening condition, followed alleged medical lapses on the part of the medical doctor who treated him for stomach complications.

Isa, whose kidney, according to his relative, Umaru Hammanseyo, was allegedly removed, owing to medical errors on the part of the doctor, had been placed on a weekly dialysis at the Federal Medical Centre, Gombe.

According to Hammanseyo, the victim’s uncle, Yakubu, who treated Isa, at his Jimeta Clinic, for stomach complications, ended up operating the victim on July 8 but allegedly removed his kidney in the process.

Three days after the operation, Umaru said Isa could not urinate.

The complications further degenerated with the face and legs of the victim becoming swollen which prompted the family to return to the accused doctor who later referred them to the Federal Medical Centre in Gombe.

Hammanseyo said it was at the Gombe hospital that medical officials working with the Federal Medical Centre told them that Isa’s kidney had been “removed.”
