From film and television shoots on the streets, to star-studded events at event centers and glitzy clubs, the bustling city of Lagos is populous with the highest concentration of movie, music, television, theater, and sports celebrities of any city in Nigeria.

Below are top 5 places to spot and perhaps meet most of the Nigerian celebrities you see on television;

1. Ojez bar

Although this bar just does not pack in the A-listers like it used to, some famous people still love this place. Located in central Surulere, the hangout offers nourishing local and international cuisines and a nightclub and bar for drinks. Nollywood stars and popular TV icons are the most regular celebrities you meet here. At lunch, you might see Charles Novia and Emeka Osia enjoying an early happy hour, or, Funke Akindele asking her assistant why they could not get her favorite table.

2. Quilox

A night club on Victoria Island, Quilox seems to be doing the rounds in Lagos at the moment, with more and more big names being reported there every week. Recently, even the governor of the state was rumored to have visited the club with his crew. Also the likes of Davido, Wizkid, and Cynthia Morgan have said to have come for a night out at the club. The chic decoration and assortment of drinks (cocktails and spirit) makes it easy to see why it is proving to be such a big name haunt in the city.

3. Eko Hotel

Located in the heart of Victoria Island, Eko hotel is one place to find celebrities in Nigeria. You can either catch them attending one of the numerous events that are hosted in the venue, them dinning at one the onsite restaurants or just changing money at the Bureau the change. Celebrities are spotted in this fabulous hotel on the regular, especially for Sunday brunch as it offers a safe haven where they can come in for a great, relaxing meal without interference.

4. The Rock Cathederal

One of the most beautiful structures in Lagos, the Rock Cathederal houses a church –The House on The Rock. And while a church is not the best place to go celebrity hunting, you stand a chance of sitting next to one or at least on the same row with one. Most celebrities in Nigeria from Nollywood stars such as Chioma Chukwuka and Chidi Mokeme to music celebrities like Tiwa Savage, P Square and Seyi Shay frequent this church on Sundays and so, the building sees a constant stream of celebs, coming and going. A trip to this place allows you to kill two birds with one stone – get edified with a good sermon and possibly run into a A-list celebrity afterward.

5. Murtala Mohammed Airport (Local)

Nigerian celebrities are always on the move and a majority of them prefer to move via flights. While many of these stars who prefer to travel first class, hide in private airline lounges pre-flight, they must mingle with the public post-flight at the baggage terminals. If you do not happen upon an encounter with them there, then head to the arrivals terminals at MM1, as it is another area they are usually spotted.

Music Producer, Don Jazzy May Part Ways with Di'ja, Korede Bello and Reekado.....See New Development

There is a high possibility of the CEO of Mavin Records,Don Jazzy losing three of his brightest music acts in the year 2017, going by new developments.
Don Jazzy and Reekado Banks

In an industry where loyalty means nothing, Mavin boss, Don Jazzy may lose the trio of his Mavin 2.0 acts in February 2017 due to contract expiration factors.

Don Jazzy has however revealed in his latest interview with Forbes TV that, ‘no one signs a life time contract. In the case of Korede Bello, Di’ja and Reekado Banks, they signed three years deals and if after three years they decide to move on to do something of their own, it’s fine, because at the end of the day that’s the goal’.

Don Jazzy continued to say, ‘at the point when that happens, the fans may feel offended and the media will get to work to make it look like something else’.

Already, Di’ja, a mother of one, is planting her ‘Dija Nation‘ movement in our minds. Korede Bello calls his teaming fans ‘Bellovers‘, while Reekado Banks calls them ‘Reekadicts‘ and if industry trends is anything to go by, these names might be setting the foundation for their own record label names.

The Mavin records label which was birthed after the dissolution of the successful Mo'hits crew with Dbanj has enjoyed its fair share of progress with monster hits from the new signees

Nigerian Music Industry Is Yet To Acknowledge Producers- K-Solo

One of Nigeria’s early music producers, K-Solo is not happy about the way musicians and the music industry as a whole are treating music producers especially the young ones. He says producers are the ones who produce the hits on the streets, but only artistes gain from it. They are the ones with big cars and houses and get endorsement deals from songs jointly made by two parties, leaving the other man- the producer broke. K-Solo said this is a chat with Showtime… Hear him;

“Music producers don’t get their due recognition. It’s beyond producing a song. I started the voice signature concept for the songs I produced before every other producer started it.

Aside that, we don’t get any other recognition. Check out many artistes in Nigeria, most of them have big houses and drive good cars, but these young music producers have nothing. Most of them don’t even have a car. They have produced major hit songs that have built houses for some of these artistes. The biggest accolade you get as a music producer is accompanying a popular artiste to an event. That is the end of it. Continue...

In the USA, music producers live like celebrities. How many music producers have gotten an endorsement deal aside from Cobhams and Don Jazzy? We cannot develop the music industry that way. OJB produced African Queen and he died without an endorsement deal. There are only a few of us who have other businesses outside of  music”, he said.
