Hon. Susan Matsunga wept profusely after allegeding that a police officer fondled her breasts  and buttock

A female legislator shocked many last week Wednesday after she wept uncontrollably in parliament alleging that a police officer had fondled her breasts and buttocks.

The shocking revelation brought business in the Zimbabwean Assembly to a halt as the legislator under Proportional Representation, Susan Matsunga narrated how she had been allegedly sexually harassed by a police officer.

“Handisi h..e ini asi ndabatwa zamu ne g..o nemapurisa. Chokwadi here kundibata zamu ini,” said Hon Matsunga before she wept uncontrollably.

According to H-metro, while responding to the Hon Matsunga’s report, Deputy Speaker Honourable Mabel Chinomona, said they would use video footages to investigate the allegations of s*xual harassment by police on the legislator.

“I have heard you, since we have video footages from the time police got into these premises, we will use the same videos to investigate the alleged s*xual harassment,” she said.

Also, another legislator, Hon Lwazi Sibanda further alleged that a police officer had put his hand in her skirt, tearing her under garment before she went to show the Deputy Speaker the torn under garment.

The incident took place in August after police men where called to the House to evict Budiriro legislator, Machingauta Costa, for dressing which was deemed unfit for Parliamentary business.

Coup: Turkey Suspends, Dismiss Thousands Of Police Officers, Military Personnel

Turkey has suspended more than 500 military personnel, mostly officers, from the air force and navy for suspected ties to the US-based Islamic preacher Fethullah Gulen who is blamed for the botched coup, local media reported on Wednesday.

Tens of thousands of people have already been arrested or lost their jobs in the relentless crackdown under the state of emergency declared in the wake of the July 15 attempted coup.

A total of 113 personnel from the navy, and 427 from the air force have been temporarily suspended as part of an investigation into the group led by Gulen, Defence Minister Fikri Isik was quoted as saying by the Dogan news agency.

He said 368 of the suspended personnel were officers.

In total, 3,699 military personnel have been dismissed from the Turkish armed forces in the wake of the coup, the minister added. Half Turkey's contingent of generals from before the coup have either been arrested or dismissed.

The announcement comes a day after Turkey suspended 12,801 police officers from duty -- 2,523 of them police chiefs.

Turkish officials say a suspension is a "precautionary measure" intended to stop suspects from interfering with the official investigation, adding that suspended personnel receive two thirds of their salary.

Turkey has launched a vast crackdown on plotters of the attempt to oust President Recep Tayyip Erdogan from power.

Some 32,000 suspects had been remanded in custody so far, according to government figures.

Turkey accuses Gulen of orchestrating the July 15 coup plot at the helm of a group Ankara calls Fethullah Terror Organisation (FETO).

Gulen and his supporters deny the claims, saying he merely runs a peaceful organisation called Hizmet (Service).

Police Officer Kills Herself After Boyfriend Dumped Her

A heartbroken special constable text a friend saying her boyfriend had "absolutely destroyed me" before killing herself when he ended the relationship, an inquest heard.

Dr Sara Gilks, 32, who had a distinguished academic career and considered one of West Yorkshire Police's most respected volunteer officers, told friends she was shattered by the break-up.

The court was told that she had begun to research suicide methods over the internet before she was found dead in her bed by her friend Diane Hirst.

She told the inquest: “I received a message from her saying her boyfriend had split up with her and she was ‘proper gutted’. She was very upset.

“It was clear that she was so shocked by what had happened. He had booked a skiing holiday for them. The next morning, she said she couldn’t stop crying.”

Diane became worried when she did not hear from her friend again and two days later she let herself in Sara’s flat in Huddersfield during the evening.

She said: “I went into her bedroom. She was wearing her pyjamas. I grabbed her arm, it was cold. There were packets of tablets on the bed.

“I was so shocked and upset I couldn’t speak. I never thought she would do such a thing.”

Bradford Coroner’s Court was told Dr Gilks worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Manchester.

She had graduated Huddersfield University with a first in forensic and analytic chemistry in 2009 before gaining a PhD from the University of Manchester.

But she had a history of depression and her self-confidence evaporated in the aftermath of relationship breakdowns.

Det Con Simon Thomas said she had been using her mobile phone for internet research on suicide methods.

On text message she sent read “he has absolutely destroyed me” while another said “he was so loving towards me and then he does this.”

On the day of her death in March, she had taken a fatal overdose and had also left a note.

Coroner Martin Fleming concluded that she had taken her own life adding it was clear that the latest break-up had “severely impacted on her.”
